Takamine LTD-2007 The Storm Lmtd Edition Annivw/case

The Takamine 2007 Limited Edition The Storm Acoustic Electric Cutaway is a dreadnought guitar with a solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, and an ebony fretboard. It features the Cool Tube CT4B Preamp, a warm-sounding, 3-band graphic EQ preamp with an extremely stable and accurate chromatic tuner (great for non-standard and open tunings).

If you had to sum up the LTD 2007’s qualities in one word, it would be presence – as this handcrafted dreadnought-bodied instrument has it in abundance; both visually and sonically. The design is based upon that most exciting of natural phenomena, the thunderstorm.

Below the deep lustrous black finish is a top of solid, seasoned spruce married to solid sapeli mahogany back and sides – a combination providing superb articulation with warmth and sweetness.

The rosette features fabulously intricate storm design inlay work using Imbuia and Persimmon, The lightning is provided by amazingly precise laser cut abalone inlaid onto the polished ebony fingerboard. The thunder comes from the solid Sitka spruce top and scalloped bracing.

The dramatic black theme is carried all the way through to the black and basswood body binding and ultimately on to the black precision tuners.

The exceptional acoustic performance of the LTD2007 is perfectly complemented by the highly-revered Takamine Palathetic under-bridge pickup and onboard Cool Tube preamp which together ensure that even the subtlest nuances of your playing are faithfully reproduced.

THE "COOL TUBE"
The solution for live performance and direct recording. Whether you running through a direct box to live P.A., a solid state acoustic guitar amp or recording direct you can experience the warm natural compression only a triode vacuum tube can provide, giving you a sound comparable to mic’ing the guitar in the studio with a tube microphone preamp but with all the advantages of using a direct box, acoustic guitar amp or direct recording.

Cool Tube Features

• A chromatic tuner capable of being calibrated from A438, to A445. An LED display reveals the note being played and directs the player with illuminated arrows that show sharp and flat.

• The EQ section utilizes a shelving, graphic EQ, which can cut or boost bass and treble frequencies. The mid range is shaped using a semi-parametric EQ section comprised of a rotary knob used to choose the mid point of the midrange frequency. The midrange frequency can be cut or boosted with the mid slider. The range of frequency covered by the rotary knob is 200hz to 8.5Khz.

• The tonality of the preamp is further enhanced by the use of the rotary knob labeled "Cool Tube" With this control, the player chooses the depth of effect the tube places on the signal generated by the proven Takamine "Palathetic" pickup. With this knob the player can choose from a high degree of "CUT" for aggressive strumming; expanded "sweetness" and harmonic density with fatter lows and rounder highs; or levels of rewarding richness for finger style players.

• An auxiliary input jack and volume knob, which can control an additional add-on pickup of your choice. This facility can accept a magnetic sound hole pickup, or a soundboard transducer. The AUX control knob is used to blend the add-on signal with the Takamine pickup. A small switch in the back of the preamp can be used to match the varying outputs of different pickups with the preamp. The output volume slider can then control the blended signal.
